In October 2016, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Comic Relief joined forces to support the best use of tech for good in the UK. We asked applicants to submit a project summary, a two-minute video and infographic.
Below you can find our top 50 applications, of which ten received funding. We also commissioned an analysis of the applications to help us learn more about demand for this funding. We are sharing these to celebrate their ambitions, inspire others, foster collaboration and encourage more funding in this space.
The 10 successful projects were awarded up to £50,000 (including access to tech experts, mentors and support) in 2017 to deliver a tangible development in their Tech for Good project. They are:
To help learn from the projects development and their experiences, we commissioned Tech for Good TV, in collaboration with We Are Snook to undertake an evaluation. They examined how the Tech for Good ecosystem is developing, to help us identify ways to develop this with our funding.
You can now read the Tech for Good 2017 Evaluation Summary. This lead us to commission inFocus to develop and document the Theory of Change and a longer narrative that underpins the programme and our funding in 2018.
